Ornamentum are a group of eight Leicestershire-based professional makers working in jewellery, textiles, paper and ceramics. The exhibition is the culmination of a 12-month collaboration project following a theme of pattern and repeat. The eight members have been working in pairs to create new work for this show. Each pair has taken a different approach to collaboration, some sharing techniques, some swapping work, some sharing ideas and inspirations. Working in collaboration allows supportive creative development, helps makers learn new techniques, try new ideas and experiment in a supportive environment as well as resulting in exciting new pieces. On Repeat is part of a larger project funded by Arts Council England, including 12 months of professional mentoring.
