Made in Leicestershire Select - Exhibition Opening at Ferrers Gallery

Creative Leicestershire, in partnership with Ferrers Gallery would like to invite you to the launch party of Made in Leicestershire Select 2014 on Friday 18 July at 1pm. Made in Leicestershire Select is a platform for the very best artist - makers in Leicestershire and Rutland to showcase their work.

 

Artists included in the exhibition and printed directory - to be published in autumn 2014 - have been selected by an independent panel of experts in the arts/crafts sector for their original high quality and uniquely covetable work.

 

The exhibition is open from 18 July - 7 September and Select artists' work can also be viewed on the Made in Leicestershire website.

Handmade in Leicestershire: Summer Craft Fair

Handmade in Leicestershire is a prestigious contemporary art, craft and design fair that this year returns to the beautiful setting of Belgrave Hall and Gardens. A wide range of arts and crafts will be on sale in the newly refurbished rooms of the hall and gardens. Adults £2.50.

Worlds Apart and Little Bird SOS will be flinging open their studio doors at Cross Corners Community Arts Centre, adjacent to Belgrave Hall and Gardens. See the artists in residence at Cross Croners, browse around the studios and join upcycling workshops. Participation drop-in workshops £2.50 per person.

Art this Way - Loughborough Art Trail in July

'Art This Way' is a small group of artists based in the Charnwood area of Leicestershire. 

On the 5th and 6th of July 2014 from 11am - 6pm, for the third year running, the group will be displaying original and inspiring artwork in our studios, homes and gardens in Loughborough.

It's a wonderful art trail and all the venues are within walking distance of each other. It's a chance to wander round, look at some art work and enjoy homemade cakes in beautiful gardens. Oh, and you can buy some art, greetings cards etc. if you wish!

A design student has won a competition for his work to be hand-painted on a railway bridge

Kieran Stott-Everett's work will be painted on the bridge which crosses Narborough Road, in Leicester's West End, near the Huntsman pub and Iceland.

The aim is to give Narborough Road, and the area towards Braunstone Gate, a brighter new image.

The final-year graphic design and illustration student's image features six pairs of legs, as if people are sitting on the bridge with their legs hanging down.
